A planet is a large object such as Venus or Earth that orbits a star. Planets are smaller than stars, and they do not produce light. Jupiter is the biggest planet in the Solar System. Planets are shaped like a slightly squashed ball (called a spheroid). Objects that orbit planets are called satellites. There are more planets than stars in our galaxy. The current count orbiting our star: eight. The inner, rocky planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. The earth has conditions that support life . It is neither too hot nor too cold. It has both water and air, which are both indispensable for life . Presence of oxygen in the air in an appropriate proportion supports life .

What is a star? yashwanth blog.

A star is an astronomical object consisting of a luminous spheroid of plasma held together by its own gravity. The nearest star to Earth is the Sun. Many other stars are visible to the naked eye at night, but due to their immense distance from Earth they appear as fixed points of light in the sky. star is a luminous ball of gas, mostly hydrogen and helium, held together by its own gravity. ... Nuclear fusion reactions in its core support the star against gravity and produce photons and heat, as well as small amounts of heavier elements. The Sun is the closest star to Earth.

SUPER NOVA

A supernova — specifically, a core-collapse supernovacan only occur when a star many times more massive than our Sun runs out of nuclear fuel to burn in its core. ... When our Sun runs out of hydrogen fuel in the core, it will contract and heat up to a sufficient degree that helium fusion can begin.
